NATURAL HEALING FOR ANIMALS
If you have pets, whether they be dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, turtles, any animal or creature can benefit from Reiki. The energy is irresistible for some felines. They are interactive with the healing energy offering their life force energy through their paws to help with the healing. Animals take as much energy as they need, requiring much less time than humans. Some may be shy at first, but with patience they usually respond. Working above their bodies energetically with their auras is also a very effective option. Balancing their Chakras is also highly beneficial. I consider it essential. Reiki I is an invaluable healing skill if you have pets. The second edition of Natural Healing for Animals, Energy Medicine Workbook is now available.

FOR EVERYTHING GREEN
Reiki can be used for everything that grows, including Mother Earth. Here, too, you must be mindful, because plants and flowers do not require a lot of energy work. Unless the plant is stressed, it’s best to work above in the auric levels of the plant.
THE TIMELESS TRADITION
Is is believed that Dr. Mikao Usui rediscovered Reiki in the early 1900’s. He dedicated his life to this ancient healing art, learning Sanskrit, studying manuscripts and sacred texts. Even after delving into this extensive research, he felt that something was a miss. The story goes he retired to Mount Koryiama in Japan and meditated and fasted for twenty one days. Near the last hours of his quest, he was gifted with the light vision of the Reiki symbols. He came down from the mountain feeling he had finally received the sacred symbols to begin his Reiki Healing practice. He worked in the slums of Kyoto, practicing Reiki on all who would permit. Over the years he attracted several disciples, who would carry Master Usui’s work forward to present day.
The symbols that were given to Master Usui on the mountain, have always been secret until recently when a Reiki healing arts practitioner broke rank and published them in her book. The Reiki purists who sought to honor the very breath and letter of Master Usui’s teaching, condemned her act as heretic, others applauded. This accomplished healer and spiritualist, by her own admission, had not received her Masters training, claiming her guides had instructed her to make the symbols public. It was a bold move. She believed the symbols should be made available to all.
MASTER TO STUDENT
Although Reiki has its share of politics and factions, the tradition of Reiki being passed from Master to Student has been preserved. Although Master Usui transitioned some 40 years ago, it is regulated by the integrity of those who teach and practice Reiki.
There are those that would like to see it regulated either by a school or government entity, but thus far, it has resisted that bureaucratic fate. Those for regulation argue that it needs to be controlled to ensure the public has access to those who have been properly trained. There is merit to their position. However, there are abuses with traditional medical practitioners who have received the finest medical training available.
There are those who offer Reiki I, II and III (Masters certification, in the course of several weekends. The prices and quality for these weekend workshops vary wildly. Those who received their certificates can go into the world and present themselves as Reiki practitioners and Masters.
I believe that because Reiki is unregulated, we have to regulate ourselves through the practice of integrity. I prefer my students go through an extended period of training after their Reiki attunements.
POWERFUL ENERGY MEDICINE
Aside from the controversy regarding regulation, the fact remains Reiki is a unique and powerful healing technique. It is non invasive, a light laying on of hands, while allowing the the universal life force energy to flow through the crown Chakra of the head and down through the arms and hands. Once the energy reaches the hands, it flows through the Chakras, or energy vortices in the palms of the hands. The human body is composed of hundreds of Chakras or vortices of life force energy. Chakras receive and release energy from the universe; from life forms and the environment.
Although I see and work with twelve primary and cosmic Chakras, it is more common for practitioners to work with the seven primary Chakras. They begin at the root Chakra of the body, moving up to the sacral Chakra, solar plexus Chakra, heart Chakra, throat Chakra, 3rd eye Chakra and Crown Chakras. (see The Seven Points of Light Chakra Chart on CHAKRAS). The hands and feet have Chakras which are not included in the definition of the seven primary Chakras even though they are important Chakras. There are multiple uses for these Chakras, but the most fundamental use of the feet Chakras are for grounding and recycling energy; the hand Chakras for healing, for feeling and sensing energy.
Gentle, but powerful, Reiki flows naturally promoting healing on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels for the person receiving the energy. It generally radiates heat. The person receiving Reiki absorbs as much energy as is needed for healing to occur. Healing can manifest in multiple ways.
This ancient Healing technique was practiced by Jesus and some of his inner circle, both women and men throughout Biblical history. Hands on Healing in conjunction with essential oils was part of the ritual used by Mary Magdeline and the inner circle to assist in restoring Jesus’s body after the crucifixion. There are accounts that state the inner circle went through rigorous training in the Mystery Schools of the times to learn the art of regenerating the life force energy of the human body after death.
There is evidence that suggests that the practice of Hands on Healing predates Biblical times. References may be found in Tibetan scrolls and some suggest that Reiki was inspired from Tibetan spiritual practices.
Reiki is based on the belief that everyone and everything is composed of energy. Healing occurs in the sharing of this all pervading life force energy through the laying on of hands from one person to another. This incredible healing energy brings the mind, body and spirit into a state of homeostasis or holistic harmony. It is one of the purest forms of Energy Medicine practiced today.
There are three traditional levels of Reiki. First level enables you to do Reiki on yourself, your loved ones, friends, your pets and plants. Second Level of Reiki enable you to be effective on long distance healing, meaning healing can be sent through time and space to a person anywhere in the world. Third Level Reiki earns you the title of Master. As a Reiki Master you can train others in Reiki I, II or III. I offer advanced Reiki Levels IV through VII. Everyone can benefit from some degree of Reiki.
A PRECIOUS GIFT
Reiki is one of the most precious healing gifts you can give yourself or a friend. Reiki is non invasive, drug and pain free. It allows you to heal from the inside out, naturally.
